Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio and becoming a military child at the age of 11, I have lived in two different but similar worlds which has given me the opportunity to connect with various types of people. I am confident that my experiences and education has helped me to connect and cultivate change in the lives of my clients.
I graduated from Austin Peay State University with a Bachelors in Psychology and a Minor in African-American Studies. I received my Masters in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Mental Health Service Provider in the state of Tennessee. I am a Nationally Certified Counselor with National Board of Certified Counselors and I am a Certified EMDR Therapist, that utilizes this skillset with the many of my clients. My professional experience includes working in various clinical settings to include private practice, community mental health, mobile crisis, military, and school settings.
Now onto the reason I come to work every day; I love therapy and I love people. I love to see people healed, whole, thriving, hopeful, inspired, growing, and changing. It may sound cliché, but I think therapy is a beautiful thing. To be able to create an atmosphere where individuals can be seen, heard, and affirmed is awesome. To witness the act of human resilience, while observing and highlighting the strengths of the clients I serve is something I do not take for granted.
